Start with what life feels like now

What should you ask about integrative psychiatry?

We help people with uncertainty about starting somewhere new by explaining the evaluation and next steps so that they can arrive knowing what they want to discuss.

How we look at the whole picture
Illustrative portrait of a young woman seated in a welcoming home setting.

You may have told your story many times and be unsure whether another clinic will understand it.

You want to know what to bring, who you will speak with and whether this is a sensible next step.

You do not need to know which treatment to ask for. Start with what has changed and what you want to be able to do again.

The 7 Domains of Recovery™

Your symptoms may belong in the same conversation.

The seven domains give the team a shared way to look at your symptoms, daily function and circumstances. The starting point is your story, not a procedure you have to select.

Neuregen's proprietary 7 Domains of Recovery framework organizes that conversation around seven connected parts of your life and health. We consider all seven, then focus the evaluation on the questions your history raises.

Explore our clinical framework
  1. 1Brain function & neural networks

What has changed in your memory, concentration, balance or sensory tolerance?

  2. 2Autonomic & nervous system regulation

What happens when you stand, move, rest or encounter stress?

  3. 3Immune function & neuroinflammation

What immune history, reactions or symptoms need a closer look?

  4. 4Brain energy & metabolic health

What affects your energy through the day and after activity?

  5. 5Structure, stability & body-to-brain signals

How do pain, posture, movement and stability affect what you can do?

  6. 6Psychological flexibility & behavioral recovery

How are mood, stress and patterns of coping affecting your day?

  7. 7Life, relationships & environment

What demands, relationships and support shape your recovery?

A plan starts with the things you want to do again.

Bring prior reports if available and a short account of what has changed. The first conversation helps determine whether an evaluation fits and what information is still needed.

  1. 01

Tell us what you want your life to look like

We start with what has changed, what you have tried, and the activities you most want to return to.

  2. 02

Answer the questions the history leaves open

We review prior reports and select relevant assessments. You should understand what each assessment is meant to clarify.

  3. 03

Agree on the priorities and the first steps

We discuss the findings, possible approaches, costs and practical constraints. The plan sets an order that fits your situation.

  4. 04

Check what changes and adjust together

We compare your response with the starting point, including daily function. If something is not helping, we discuss what needs to change.

Only then do we discuss which therapies, if any, belong in your plan. The choice depends on the findings, the evidence, your preferences and how you respond.

Ketamine & Integrative Psychiatry: Common Questions

About integrative psychiatry at Neuregen

Neuregen's psychiatric program is distinct from a standalone ketamine clinic and from a conventional outpatient psychiatry practice. It embeds psychiatric care — including ketamine, KAP, medication management, and psychotherapy — inside a rehabilitation program that addresses autonomic, structural, immune, and metabolic dimensions alongside the psychiatric one.

We coordinate psychiatric care with rehabilitation and confirm which qualified clinician is responsible for each part of your plan. Practitioner qualifications are detailed on the About and team pages.

Every plan starts from the same map: the 7 Domains of Recovery.

How it fits your plan

The FAQ page is a starting point, not a plan. If your questions lead you toward Neuregen, the next step is a Strategy Consultation — a real clinical conversation where your case is reviewed and a plan, if appropriate, is proposed.

Mood, sleep, concentration and physical symptoms can affect the same parts of your day. We consider them together before discussing a specific psychiatric approach, so psychotherapy or medication decisions fit the wider care plan.

We review your history, explain the findings, agree on next steps and check how you respond.

Potential Therapies

We use established medicine where it works, and emerging medicine where it makes sense.

These are options to discuss after evaluation, not a predetermined treatment plan. Each label refers to the condition or indication described beside that therapy; evidence can differ for another use. An evidence label does not mean FDA approval.

Where the evidence stands

Ketamine for treatment-resistant depression and MDD is supported by established clinical evidence. KAP is emerging. Ketamine for PTSD and AUD/craving is emerging. Evidence levels are labeled explicitly on each indication page.

The training behind this care

Neuregen combines integrative psychiatric care with nervous-system rehabilitation. Our team can discuss psychological and physical concerns in the same clinical context, while explaining the qualifications and role of each treating clinician.

Dr. David George: Board certifications and training in functional neurology, integrative psychiatry, and mental health; certified brain injury specialist.

These are the founder’s qualifications. We confirm the treating clinician and their role when discussing your plan.

Frequently asked questions

What is integrative ketamine therapy?

Ketamine is administered at sub-dissociative doses alongside counseling support. As an NMDA receptor antagonist, it triggers a rapid release of glutamate that stimulates the growth of new connections between brain cells (synaptogenesis). Neuregen's integrative approach pairs the infusion with therapeutic context so the neuroplastic window is used purposefully.

Who may be a candidate for ketamine therapy at Neuregen?

We consider ketamine for patients with major depressive disorder (MDD), treatment-resistant depression (TRD), complex neuropsychiatric presentations, and severe PTSD. A Strategy Consultation determines whether ketamine is appropriate for your situation.

What happens during and after an infusion?

Infusions are given at sub-dissociative doses with counseling support present. New synaptic growth is most active in the days following each infusion. The number of sessions and the pacing of the course are set by our clinical team after a full medical review — not in advance.

Why is this called "integrative" ketamine rather than standard ketamine therapy?

The integration refers to the counseling and contextual support that runs alongside the infusion, not just the infusion itself. The goal is to use the period of heightened neuroplasticity that ketamine creates to support lasting change rather than simply repeating an intervention.

How does ketamine affect the brain differently from antidepressants?

Traditional antidepressants generally modulate serotonin or norepinephrine over weeks. Ketamine acts on NMDA receptors and triggers BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) expression and mTOR pathway activity, which together can stimulate synaptic growth more rapidly. It also disrupts default mode network hyperactivity that is associated with depressive rumination.

Is Neuregen an in-network provider for ketamine therapy?

Neuregen is an out-of-network specialty clinic. Patients are responsible for fees at the time of service. Ketamine therapy is typically not covered by insurance; Spravato (esketamine) may have coverage under its approved indications.

What is the difference between KAP and infusion-only ketamine?

Infusion-only ketamine delivers the pharmacologic effect — the neuroplastic window. KAP adds a structured psychotherapy component before, during, and after the dosing session. The goal is to use that window purposefully. KAP is priced separately and is most appropriate for patients whose illness pattern has a strong psychological or trauma-related component.

Who provides psychiatric care at Neuregen?

Psychiatric care is provided within each clinician’s professional scope. We confirm who will provide your care and explain their role. Our founder’s qualifications and training are listed on the dedicated About page.

Start with a Strategy Consultation

When distress or poor sleep keeps affecting relationships and everyday responsibilities, putting off a conversation leaves those concerns unresolved. You can ask about next steps without committing to medication or a procedure.
